We reached there around 10 am and found a parking space to park the car for the whole day. Portland is a walking city and that’s exactly how we wanted to explore it. We divided the day into 4 parts – exploring the old cobblestone streets on foot, indulging in waterfront seating seafood eateries and basking in the sun, the lighthouse and taking a cruise to visit the neighboring Casco Bay islands.
I had to eat the Lobster while in Maine. We went to this place called “Portland Lobster Co” and the experience was delightful! Even though the food is hugely overpriced, they have a wonderful waterfront patio seating. It was a warm sunny day and they took our order and gave us a huge lobster beeper to pick up when our order was ready. We ordered Clam Chowder, Lobster Rolls with fries and drinks. The lobster rolls were not as big as I had imagined but were superbly flavored and very fresh with good chunks of lobster meat, served with coleslaw and fries. It’s good we reached there a little before noon and got a good table because within the minutes after 12pm, the crowds came rolling in.
